Rev. Brian Burke, Interim Minister

The Rev. Brian Burke was ordained as a United Church of Christ minister in 2004. Prior to seminary, he was a high school band director.  He also was heavily involved in church music, directing handbell choirs at First Congregational UCC in Elyria and teaching and conducting handbells on a local, regional and national level.


While serving as Director of Music in Elyria, he felt the call to ordained ministry and received his Masters of Divinity from Eden Seminary in St. Louis.  He spent 12 years as the pastor of First Congregational UCC in Wellington. He serves the wider church as a member of the Western Reserve Association’s Committee on Ministry, as a Grandparent-Grandchild Camp Director for the Outdoor Ministries summer camp program, and as a voting delegate to the past three UCC General Synods. He serves on the Board of the Community Foundation of Lorain County and is a member and past president of the Wellington Kiwanis.

Jayne Kacik, Music Director

Jayne E. Kacik, serves as Music Director and Organist for CCUCC.  Jayne is married to Mark and is the mom to four children and one grandchild. She currently lives in Avon Lake and enjoys spending time with family and friends while hopefully making this world a better place for future generations. Jayne enjoys walking though the Metroparks and traveling to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She believes in a world where you can be anything choose to be kind.


With a vast musical history and experiences, Jayne has a Bachelor of Music from the University of Toledo and a Music Education Certification from Ashland University.



Missy Timko, Office Manager

After graduating from Mount Union College, Missy worked for a shopping center development company and a financial institution in their marketing, advertising and employee development departments.  After having her first child, she decided to explore a work-at-home opportunity and opened 5 Corners Bed & Breakfast in Amherst where she owned and operated that business for eight years. 


She enjoys spending time with friends and family.  Missy loves the sound of the ocean and the warmth of summer day.  She also loves to try new restaurants and recipes.  In her free time, Missy enjoys reading, crafting, baking, shopping and walking their dog, Buster.  Missy has been a life-long member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Lorain. 

Melissa Thompson, Christian Education Director

Melissa Thompson serves as Community Congregational UCC’s Youth Director and oversees our Sunday School and Youth programs.  Melissa works to share love, peace and kindness in all of our youth programming.  Her favorite time of year is Christmas when she enjoys all fo the wonderful family traditions that share God's love. 


A mom of two boys, Ben and Jonah, and wife to Brett, they love to travel, play soccer, host family movie nights and they enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities. Each day, Brett and Melissa try to follow this simple yet motivational bible verse: "Love one another deeply.  Honor others more than yourselves." Romans 12:10.


Worship with us every Sunday at 10:00am. Our vibrant Sunday School program, also at 10:00am, offers learning opportunities for pre-school aged children and up. Nursery care is offered for younger children.
